Since the two are uncannily alike I just thought they would look good together. I'm not implying Axel is Reno's nobody or anything, Nomura stated himself that he's not.
He's essentially the same character as Reno, but not the same person. KH2 Reno. But a nobody. That's what I make of that.

[although Ale (reno's favorite drink) + X = anagram of Axel, so I honestly don't know what to think.]

I TRACED HIS ASS, YO.
I mean, I drew Reno first, then traced Axel from from the drawing of Reno there. I ripped off my own art. They did end up looking somewhat different though. Axel's nose, eyebrow and jaw look a bit different. Nitpicking...
